Who Is The Systems Developer?

Engr. Oscar Mistula is a freelance systems developer specializing in the LAMP Stack, Frontend & Backend Systems. He is also a Certified Database Administrator for both SQL Server and Oracle databases. Back in 1986, he began his journey with BASIC programming language, using it as a tool to program games such as Tic-Tac-Toe and Mastermind on a XT Computer. The rest, as they say, is history.

He was one of the three pillars that powered the successful software development and programming company, MCR Network Development Company, in Cagayan de Oro City, Philippines.

During his years with MCR, programs and systems were developed according to the specific needs of their clients. The company primarily catered to small and medium-scale enterprises or establishments requiring information systems, consulting, and custom program development and implementation for Accounting Applications, including Inventory, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Payroll, and General Ledger programs. Customized non-Accounting Programs, such as Point-of-Sale Systems and Hotel and Restaurant Information Systems, were also developed for clients with specific requirements.

In 1999, he emigrated to Sydney, Australia, where he worked for a company now known as Singtel Optus for 21 years. He returned to Cagayan de Oro City in 2021. During his tenure at Singtel Optus, he served as a Senior Database Administrator, specializing in relational database management systems (RDBMS) such as SQL Server, Oracle Database, MySQL/MariaDB, and PostgreSQL. His responsibilities encompassed the installation, commissioning, and ongoing operational maintenance of these RDBMS. Furthermore, his expertise extended to operating systems including Microsoft Windows Server, Linux, HP-UX, and Solaris.
